The Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre offers guided tours in open safari vehicles, bringing you up close and personal with rehabilitated species at the centre. Funds raised through tourism activities contribute directly to our conservation projects and daily operating costs.

This tour is perfect for conservation-minded travellers and wildlife enthusiasts who want a deeper look at the efforts required to protect South Africa’s rare species. It is an inspiring experience for families, photographers, and anyone eager to see animals like cheetahs and rhinos up close while learning about active preservation research.
Best Time to Travel is All Year Round
The two-hour tour with a knowledgeable guide gives an overview of HESC’s conservation programmes and a close-up of the various species in their care, such as cheetahs, rhinos, wild dogs, leopards, sable antelope and southern ground hornbill. You can also visit the Vulture Restaurant where vultures descend in their hundreds when food is put out for them.
Daily Tours: 09:00, 11:00, 13:00 and 15:00
